Virginia Key Mountain Bike Trails to open to the public February 20
On Sunday February 20th, the Virginia Key Mountain Bike Trails will finally be open to the public. Located on North Point, Virginia Key, this trail system features spectacular views of Fisher Island and downtown Miami. The word I’ve heard is that about half of the trail system is designed for beginners, while the remainder is for intermediate or expert riders.
The great wading birds
We saw a Woodstork along our hike today. Initially we saw it flying overhead, marked by its black-lined wings and dark head. Here’s a photo of the Woodstork after it landed, which came out blurry, but it still shows the stance of this magnificent wading bird.
Sunset bike ride
You never know what you’ll encounter on the trail… The setting sun cast perfect natural light for photos of these wild inhabitants crossed during my last MTB ride.
