Mama white-tailed and doe at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge

I spotted this deer with her doe as we drove along the Laurel Hill wildlife drive on a cool September afternoon in the refuge. The doe dashed off, and the mama followed.

Merlin at Virginia Key Preserve

We hiked right up to this Merlin perched atop a gumbo limbo tree on Virginia Key. We were able to watch the falcon for a few seconds before he flew off and circled high above.
