I am an author, father, and freelance journalist who tries to find time for an occasional adventure, and on some of those adventures, I find myself almost lost out in the woods.
My recent environmental journalism has appeared in Scientific American, The Atlantic magazine’s CityLab, Yale Environment 360, Mother Jones, and Grist.org. My essays have appeared, or are forthcoming, in the journals Concho River Review, Border Crossing, Whole Terrain, EarthSpeak Magazine, and Sugar Mule. My short stories have been published in the journals Potomac Review, The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review, Grey Sparrow Journal, The MacGuffin, Platte Valley Review, Pindeldyboz, Pif Magazine, The Northville Review, and elsewhere. My novel No Other Way was published in June, 2012 by Moonshine Cove Publishing. I recently completed my MFA in creative writing at Florida Atlantic University. I am also the founder of Little Curlew Press, an independent literary press that publishes works with a strong ecological undercurrent, including place-based eco-fiction, environmental nonfiction, and environmental journalism.

I will review and link to the merchant’s Web site, and also provide a disclaimer that states the merchant provided the gear that was reviewed. Giveaways will be sent by the gear provider/company to winners. E-mail email@example.com for more information. For a few of my previous reviews, see this blog’s gear category.
Certain brands of clothing tend to have an edge over others-for example Craghoppers Kiwi Trousers & Clothing from Warwickshire.
