Technical trails, speedway singletrack, partially-shaded throughways–Oleta has it all. Here are a few photos from a recent ride at Oleta River State Park. The photo on the left shows one of my favorite intersections of mountain bike trails. My trail dog Sandy loves it here, but she prefers it in the winter.
And for those who ride with their dog, remember to bring lots of water and a bowl for them to drink out of. Be careful not to let your dog over-drink while exercising (which in certain breeds can lead to bloat, also called gastric-volvulus) and keep her from drinking saltwater or stagnant water. I usually pack two bottles of water, including one that was frozen the night before and then slightly thawed an hour or two before hitting the trails, and a bowl in a light rucksack.
The second photo below was taken nearby; its a nice speedway singletrack leading up a small ridge. There are quite a few of these speedways at Oleta River State Park.
