Tarflower (Bejaria racemosa) in bloom

Tarflower (Bejaria racemosa), native to Florida.

These tarflowers were blooming all along the Skyblue Lupine Hiking Trail at Yamato Scrub. They seemed to like drier scrub habitat, and you can see here why one common name is Fly Catcher.

(Thanks for help with the id, Tom!) Species: Bejaria racemosa (formerly Befaria racemosa); Common Names: Tarflower, Tar Flower, Fly Catcher.

Another tarflower in the scrub, next to saw palmetto.
