The graceful birds of prey

It made my morning when I looked up between the pines and saw this swallow-tailed kite soaring! DSC_0025But then when I got to a clearing, and a clearer look above, I saw there wasn’t just one of these graceful birds of prey . . .

 I reached a clearing to try to get a better look, and there was a pair of these graceful birds of prey!

These graceful birds of prey, and harbingers of spring every year in Florida, usually nest in April, according to the the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
