Winter colors at Savannah NWR

These wild flowers gave some color to the marsh about halfway along my hike–just south of John Hill Canal at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge.

This hawk flew up close and landed in this tree as I was scouting where I wanted to hike in the park. Later during the hike, I saw this hawk circling above the marsh. It was very windy as a front was moving in along the low country.
